Overview

ROLE:

The MRO Advisory Solutions team is expanding beyond its current assessment offerings into performance improvement and analytics consulting. The Consultant role owns the analytical and project execution core of new advisory offerings: the data collection and analysis, the deliverables, the workplan, and the day-to-day partner engagement that makes each engagement land.

These offerings are new and pre-launch. That makes this a build role as much as a delivery role: the Consultant executes the pilots, instruments them against defined success criteria, brings back structured evidence about what should change, and helps convert what works into repeatable delivery assets so each offering can scale past its first few partners.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Analysis and Deliverables  ·  ~45%

Owns the analytical core of every engagement — the Collect and Analyze phases, and the authorship of key deliverables.

  • Assemble and validate the engagement data set: this could include registry data (STS Adult Cardiac Surgery, NCDR CathPCI, TVT), read-only EMR review, benchmark data, and partner-supplied operational and financial data
  • Run the quantitative analysis each offering requires — this could include things like outcomes, length-of-stay, and adverse event variation; physician-level variation and documentation gaps; performance against public benchmarks; patient migration and leakage; competitive and market position
  • Build the financial impact analysis: ROI and cost-impact modeling, revenue sizing, and growth opportunities
  • Conduct the qualitative work — stakeholder interviews, surveys, and workflow review — and synthesize it against the quantitative findings
  • Author draft findings, prioritized action blueprints, scorecards, and implementation or growth roadmaps in collaboration with the Advisory Lead and other team members
  • Build and maintain the analytical assets each offering depends on: this could include data request templates, calculation and risk-adjustment logic, benchmark data sets, and performance trackers

2.  Engagement and Project Management  ·  ~30%

Runs the day-to-day of 16- to 24-week engagements, projects may run concurrently.

  • Build and maintain project workplans, including milestones, owners, dependencies, and status
  • Serve as primary day-to-day partner contact for working-level and mid-management stakeholders
  • Lead client-facing meetings for their engagements — kickoffs, working check-ins, and final presentations
  • Facilitate working sessions and stakeholder interviews; hold partner-side owners accountable to deadlines
  • Surface delivery risk, scope creep, and stakeholder resistance to the Advisory team early enough to act on
  • Coordinate internal contributors across Clinical Services, Product, and other teams as projects require

3.  Offering Build and Pilot Execution  ·  ~25%

Supports delivery of pilot offerings and helps shape what scaled offerings look like

  • Support Business Development with offering-specific content and fit assessment during partner conversations
  • Capture partner feedback and make recommendations on what should change in each offering to move from pilot to scaled offerings — phase length, data requirements, deliverable format, scope, etc.
  • Document where an offering needs technology or data support and route as needed
  • Convert what works into repeatable delivery assets: methodology documentation, deliverable and workplan templates, and enablement material for future delivery staff

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE — FIRST 12 MONTHS

  • Runs data collection, analysis, and deliverable creation without day-to-day direction
  • All assigned projects completed within their contracted phase windows, with any extension attributable to partner-side issues rather than controllable delivery-side issues
  • Recommendations are traced to a defensible, clinically- or operationally-grounded finding with solid financial implications outlined
  • Physician and clinical stakeholders engage with the findings rather than dispute the data
  • At least one offering materially revised — phase length, data requirements, or deliverable format — because of what execution revealed
  • Brings a point of view to offering design and scaling discussions rather than only executing decisions made elsewhere

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 3+ years in healthcare consulting or a related field, and 2–3+ years in an operational, quality, or performance improvement role within a health system
  • Cardiovascular registry depth: STS Adult Cardiac Surgery Database, NCDR CathPCI
  • Working knowledge of hospital clinical quality programs and registry data, or direct experience working with clinical quality or registry data
  • Able to work in a pre-launch environment where the methodology is being built while it is being used
  • Demonstrated ownership of the analytical core of client engagements — able to move from an incomplete data set to a defensible, quantified finding
  • Strong project management: workplans, multi-stakeholder cadence, milestone tracking, and driving others to committed dates without formal authority
  • Comfortable as the day-to-day partner contact with clinical and operational stakeholders
  • Experience presenting analysis to, or facilitating improvement work with, physicians
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; working comfort with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and AI tools for analysis (e.g., Claude, Copilot)
  • Clear written communication — able to draft a deliverable that needs editing, not rewriting

Preferred

  • Familiarity with public performance measures and their methodologies — STS star ratings, CMS Care Compare, U.S. News — and with how risk adjustment and documentation drive them
  • Formal performance improvement training: Lean, Six Sigma, or the IHI Model for Improvement
  • Clinical, HIM, or CPHQ background
  • Prior experience taking a service offering from pilot to repeatable delivery
  • Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM)
